Synopsis :
Frank rijdt 's nachts als paramedicus in Manhattan in een ambulance rond. Na jaren geconfronteerd te zijn met ziekte en dood is hij totaal uitgeblust. De laatste tijd wordt hij achtervolgd door de gedachte aan een 18-jarig meisje dat hij niet heeft kunnen reanimeren. Op een nacht leert hij Mary kennen, een ex-junkie wier vader met een hartaanval is opgenomen. Maar Frank kan het allemaal niet meer bolwerken en vraagt ontslagen te worden, wat hem echter geweigerd wordt.
